This is what the seller says:
One late summer day almost fifteen years ago, we were browsing houses at a flea market. We were looking for a small summer cottage. After walking through the stables and outbuildings, we stood on the hill overlooking a shimmering bay and fell in love at first sight. We abandoned our plans for the summer cottage and opted for a small farm instead. Now we had the opportunity to live with our horse, who had previously lived alone in various places. About a year after we moved in, the stables were equipped and the pastures ready for our four-legged friend. We also bought a pony, a large, older North Swedish draft horse. Life with the horses was wonderful; they thrived, and the layout of the farm allowed for a wonderfully close relationship between humans and animals, as the pastures bordered directly on the terraces and the garden. The pastures were more than adequate for two easy-going draft horses; they only grazed between May and September. We went horseback riding on the old country road, the so-called King's Road, which runs past our property. We also took exciting trips to the two nature reserves, one around Fjällbäcken/Dalsälven and the other into the gorge along the Öjenäsbäcken near Gretjärn. Riding lessons and workshops at a reasonable distance took us to the riding clubs in Arvika and Eda, each only about 1.5 km away. The garden in Berg was a wonderful place for gardening, grandchildren playing, and family celebrations for many generations. There are many lovely spots to set up garden furniture for gatherings, barbecues, and games. From everywhere, there is a fantastic view of Nysockenflagan. Our passion for cars wasn't neglected either: A double garage with a large yard, a little way from the main house, provided ample space. Here we tinkered with older projects like mopeds and Jeeps and had horse trailers and tractors within easy reach. Two cars had ample space in the garage, a great advantage for both people and vehicles on many snowy and cold winter days. Beyond all the practical aspects, Hagen was a little paradise on earth for us. The deciduous forest right next to the farm provides a habitat for an incredible variety of birds, and the larger woodlands are home to wildlife. Sitting on the veranda on an April morning, listening to the birdsong, and perhaps spotting deer and white elk down by the fence in the valley below, was a true treasure. Mushroom and berry bushes are part of everyday life here and grow just a few hundred meters from the property line. We are grateful for the years we spent in Hagen and are now giving someone else the chance to take over the property and continue this little gem. Hopefully, this will mean that in the future, with animals, children, and confidence, we can build, sow, and harvest on our own land.
