Directly south of Vitsand is Hovfjället. This area is home to Sweden's southernmost mountain nature reserve, which is also a nature reserve. Hovfjället offers both alpine ski slopes and cross-country ski trails in beautiful natural surroundings. In summer, there are beautiful hiking trails. There are several lovely swimming spots around the lakes. Gammelbyn also offers overnight accommodations.
